English Language and Literature teacher
Full-time literature (ACL) position
Candidates must hold a teaching certificate delivered by the French Education Nationale (Capes/Agrégation).
The American International Section at the Lycée Saint Benoît in Angers is seeking an English Language and Literature teacher in high school for next academic year (starting September 2024). This position covers two Language and Literature classes at high school level and one at middle-school level. It may also include additional hours covering English as a foreign language at high school level and may evolve to cover more International Section middle-school classes over the coming years. The classes in the Section are taught at a native level to an audience of mostly native and bilingual students, and aim to develop confident and nuanced expression through the study of literature in preparation for the BFI final examinations. The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced and enthusiastic teacher who can contribute to curriculum development and coordinate effectively with the rest of the American Section team.
Requirements:
Native-level English proficiency
A French national teaching certificate (Capes ou Agrégation d’Anglais)
Experience teaching or living in an English-speaking country

English history-geography teacher
Full-time position in history-geography

It will also include additional hours teaching history in English in the European Section and may evolve to cover International Section middle school classes over the coming years. The classes in the American Section are taught at a native level to an audience of mostly native and bilingual students, and aim to develop analytical thought and confident expression in preparation for the BFI final examinations. The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced and enthusiastic teacher who can contribute to curriculum development and coordinate effectively with the rest of the American Section team.
